Lakedredging

A group of homeowners in Casey Key, FL took over 6 years to get the appropriate permitting required to hydraulically dredge their small private marina. Essentially it had become a lake. The entrance was less than one foot deep and 2 feet wide at low tide: totally unusable for motor boats of any kind. Launching at a remote ramp and using a geotube set up in an adjacent spoils site we were able to dredge out the entrance to their boat basin and some other shallow spots. The dredging was very tough and we had to get creative to move some of the areas that were mostly larger shells and clay. Doctor Dredge, LLC also completed the Mangrove and Seagrass Mitigation portions of the permit. Our cost to complete was not much more than the mobilization charge of some of the larger dredge companies who bid the job.
