Maintenancedredging

Lazy Days Marina on the St. Johns River in Welaka, FL needed maintenance dredging. The owners couldn't find a solution. Using long reach excavators and loading dump trucks would destroy their seawalls and their driveways. Larger dredges could not maneuver in the tight marina. They found Doctor Dredge and we determined that our shallow draft hydraulic dredge could easily complete the dredging but as additional savings we would be able to launch our dredge up river at a remote boat ramp and save the cost of using a large crane. The pumping distance was over 1800ft with 30ft of vertical head. Without a booster pump we were able to hydraulically dredge 1800 Y3 of muck into two large geotubes set up on their parking lot. Once the muck dewatered we cut open the geotubes and graded out the material over their trailer parking area, elevating it so that it no longer flooded with heavy rains.
